Carpenter and Honey Bee Control Treatment

Think you have a bumble bee problem? You might need to call a Birmingham pest control company for treatment of carpenter bees. Bumble bees are larger, more social bees that are a half to one inch long, with black and yellow, or sometimes black and orange, markings. Theirs nests are underground and they spend most of their time traveling between nests and flowers from which they obtain food, sugar, and carbohydrates.

Carpenter bees resemble bumble bees in both size and appearance but they are not social insects. People complaining of bumblebees are probably being annoyed by carpenter bees. They construct their nests in trees or in frame buildings. Most of the top of the abdomen of the carpenter bee is without hair and is shiny black in color. The difference in the carpenter bee and the bumble bee's abdomen is that the bumble bee's is fully clothed with hairs, many of them yellow in color.

If you see a large number of bees hovering near the eaves of the house or drilling in wood, you have carpenter bees! If you do not treat for carpenter bees, it could get worse and cause structural damage in the wood. At springtime, female carpenter bees and their family will come back to the same place every year.
